Concrete Driveway

Enhance your Home with a New Concrete Driveway

When it comes to improving the curb appeal of your property, the condition of your driveway tells a story. At Conker, we specialise in delivering new concrete driveways and replacement concrete driveways that will add visual appeal and value to your home. Whether you opt for a classic exposed aggregate finish, or something more unique like stamped or stencilled, our team of residential concreting specialists can make it happen.

At Conker, our team takes the time to understand the drainage and grading of your driveway to prevent pooling and premature ageing and wear. By reviewing your current driveway, we can also assist with modifications such as removing kerbs or reducing the height of your driveway to allow for more headroom in your garage and smooth, scrape-free entry to your driveway.

In addition to its aesthetic benefits, a concrete driveway offers a number of practical advantages. Concrete is a durable and low maintenance material, so you won't have to worry about frequent repairs or upkeep. It is also resistant to erosion and washouts, making it a reliable and safe surface for your vehicles.

Whether you’re looking for a modern finish to suit your new build, or something a bit more contemporary to match your home’s existing facade, concrete is a versatile and cost-effective driveway material. In addition to the visual appeal, there are also a number of practical advantages that come with a concrete driveway for your home. For starters, concrete is incredibly durable and low maintenance, which means that you won’t have to worry about costly upkeep and repairs. It’s also resistant to erosion and washouts, which means that it will keep looking good for years to come – irrespective of what mother nature throws at it.

Customised Concrete Driveways to Suit Your Style

Plain concrete driveways are a classic, timeless finish that will suit most homes. They offer a smooth, sleek finish that is easy to maintain and will serve your property for years to come. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a natural and textured finish, exposed aggregate driveways are an increasingly popular and cost-effective option to add some style to your driveway.

If you are looking to make a statement, then a full depth colour concrete driveway provides a vibrant and decorative finish to your driveway. Coloured concrete driveways are created by adding oxide to the entire depth of the concrete mix which allows for a more consistent and long-lasting driveway finish. Honed concrete driveways are created by fringing down the surface of the concrete to create a smooth, matte finish to provide a sophisticated and modern look to any contemporary property.

From the very beginning I felt confident with Conker. I was always kept up to date with each stage and who would be coming and when. The team were very friendly and courteous, and of course the project looks amazing! I couldn't be happier - I have already recommended them to family and friends.

Conker Offer a Range of Different Concrete Styles for Your Driveway

If you’re looking to replicate the natural look of stone, brick, or other natural materials for a fraction of the cost, then a stamped concrete driveway is a great option. Created by pressing a textured pattern into the surface of wet concrete and then staining or sealing it to achieve your desired finish, our team of concreting experts can work with you to deliver your desired finish. Stencilled driveways are another, similar option to stamped concrete that use a stencil pattern instead of a textured mat to deliver your desired finish.

There are a range of decorative effects that can be added to concrete driveways to create a personalised, unique look for your home. Cove finishes, for instance, involve creating a rounded pattern on the surface of the driveway, while swirl finishes involve creating a swirling pattern on the surface.

Another option is a pavilion finish driveway that involves grinding the surface of the concrete, followed by an acid wash that leaves the stones slightly higher on the surface, and light and medium exposures involve exposing different levels of the aggregate to create a smoother look.

If your existing driveway is in good condition, then you can give it a new lease on life with concrete resurfacing. Using a polymer modified cementitious spray-on topping, concrete resurfacing is a popular and cost-effective option that removes the hassle (and cost) of building a completely new driveway by simply replacing it with a new façade.

Partner with Brisbane’s Concrete Driveway Specialists

At Conker, we don’t offer every renovation service under the sun. Instead, we are a team of concreting specialists that are focussed on delivering the best concrete driveways, pathways, and surfaces that Brisbane has to offer. We take a methodical approach that involves carefully excavating and removing your existing driveway to minimise disruption to your property. Where required, we will also provide plumbing and drainage services to ensure that your new driveway will function correctly in all seasons.

In addition to concrete driveways, we can also provide retaining walls which can be an effective way to protect your driveway and landscape from erosion or premature wear and damage. Our team has the equipment, expertise, and know-how to ensure that your new concrete driveway doesn’t just look great, but it’s also functional. During the removal process, we use a range of specialised equipment to ensure that concrete is removed and separated from any steel reinforcing.

Once the concrete has been removed, our team will take it away and dispose of it in an environmentally and responsible manner. While we’re there, we can also arrange for any unwanted concrete materials such as sidewalks, patios, or old retaining walls to be removed. Once we’ve laid the foundations, it’s time for the fun part. Our team will place and finish your driveway in your desired finish to ensure that you get your desired end outcome.

Concrete Resurfacing may be a Better Option

In some cases, concrete resurfacing may be the right option for replacing your drab, worn out concrete surfaces. Concrete resurfacing is a cost-effective way to transform and renovate your existing concrete surfaces without the need to completely remove your existing concrete. Whether you are looking to breathe new life into your concrete driveway, pathways, pool surround, or any other concrete hardstand area, concrete resurfacing can be a suitable option for updating the concrete around your home.

Where suitable, our team can resurface a wide range of concrete surfaces, including plain concrete, exposed aggregate, tiled, stamped, or stencilled. If your existing driveway has any of these finishes, we will remove the tiles or grind the surface to create a smooth, seamless base for the resurfacing. This will ensure that the resurfacing will look as smooth and polished as possible. In addition to the aesthetic benefits, concrete resurfacing can also improve the overall safety and functionality of your concrete surfaces.

ROWES BAY

Resurfaced Double Driveway, Garage & Pathways

Our clients recently completed a major home renovation in the upscale neighborhood of Rowes Bay in Brisbane. After the renovation, they contacted us to enhance the plain grey concrete surfaces on their property. We performed a full concrete resurfacing of the double driveway, internal garage, and pathways using Dulux Avista French Grey with charcoal and white flecks. The project was completed with two coats of Dulux Avista Extended Wear clear sealer.

As with this project, some clients choose to continue resurfacing into their internal garage instead of traditional epoxy flake flooring, which is prone to hot tire pick up in Queensland. Resurfacing the garage floor provides a continuous, seamless look without the need for additional building finishes
